The first guide for the identification of waterbirds in Arabic was officially presented to the public on the 2nd March in Tunis by the Association “Les Amis des Oiseaux” (AAO).

Sixty participants from varying backgrounds were present, including representatives of North African institutions or organizations and of other countries involved in the preservation of biodiversity.

The publication of this guide was made possible by a successful partnership between the AAO and teams from the National centre for study and applied research (CNERA) on migratory birds in the National Office for Hunting and Wildlife (ONCFS) hosted at the Tour du Valat (Camargue, France) – co-authors to the guide, with financial support from the MAVA Foundation and the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (MEDDE).
