21-25 October 2013, Marseille, France
Organized by IUCN and the French Marine Protected Areas Agency, IMPAC 3 gathers major marine specialists and other stakeholders every four years to assist in the conservation and sustainable development of the oceans.
The core of the congress consists of 5 days of debates and exchanges in Marseille. Each day is devoted to a specific topic, which is broken down into “streams” and “areas”.
The program has been designed from the bottom up, in order to best serve the interests of the MPA community. Each of the 700 selected abstracts has assigned to specific area and slotted into one of 5 formats : Workshops (90 min., presentations with audience), Knowledges Cafés (90 min., roundtables without audience), Ocean+ Pavilion Presentations (45 min., strong interactive dimension), Posters (not displayed on the following table) and Plenaries. Additionally, films are screened throughout. Many parallel sessions will be running simultaneously, except during Plenaries, which are designed to bring everyone in sync. Our WebTV will also help you catch up with sessions you could not attend.
The consecutive High Level Meeting in Corsica is the object of a separate program, as it is open on invitation only.
