News on the Sustainable Development Solutions Network

The Coastal and Marine Union (EUCC) is a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the SDSN Mediterranean. 

Activities of SDSN Mediterranean include:
  • Cooperation  and  joint  research activities  among  Mediterranean  countries, universities  and  businesses;
  • Development  of  practical  solutions  to  sustainability  issues relevant to the  future of  the region;
  • Elaboration  of  SDG  indicators  for  the  Mediterranean  area;
  • Promotion of   networking   activities among  research  centers,  the  diffusion  of  SDSN.edu  education tools  in the  Mediterranean ,  and  Euro-Mediterranean  joint  programming  in  the context  of  EU  planning  activities.

“Food & Water: International short film festival on sustainability


On August 27, 2015, SDSN Mediterranea, in cooperation with “Visionaria International Film Festival”, presented at the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2015 an event entitled Food & Water: International short film festival on sustainability. A series of 10 short films on the theme Food & Water, finalists of Competition, have been viewed by the public of Expo in Milan and judged by a jury. The contest has been won by the short film “Parvaneha End – Butterflies” (Iran, 2014) by Adnan Zandi a videomaker born in Iran. More information about this  event and a trailer on short films presented at the Festival are available at:
