MEDCOAST INSTITUTE 2016: Integrated Maritime Policy and Marine Spatial Planning in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea

The first new generation MEDCOAST Institute (eleventh event of the series started in 1994) will be organised in Dalyan, Turkey during 20 – 27 September 2016, in collaboration with DG MARE of the European Commission, which will co-organise the Launching Event of the Training Workshop on 20 September.  The Launching Event and the Training Workshop (MEDCOAST Institute 2016) will deal in depth with the subject of “Integrated Maritime Policy and Marine Spatial Planning in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea“.  Prominent international speakers and faculty members will contribute to MEDCOAST Institute 2016.  Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the EU at Ispra (Italy) and the MSP Research Network will support and contribute to the event.

The maximum number of participants to be accepted is limited to twenty-five. The criteria for selection of participants is described in the Call for Applications and the Application Form for MEDCOAST Institute 2016.  These documents can be downloaded by clicking the links below:

Application Form

Potential participants of MEDCOAST Institute 2016 should fill the Application Form and send it together with their CVs to MEDCOAST Foundation by e-mail.  The deadline for submitting an application is 15 August 2016.  Selected participants will be notified by 22 August.

Turkey has gone through an extraordinary period during the weekend, but the pace of life is getting speedily normalised day by day.  I anticipate that nothing will remain from the unfortunate happening at the time of MEDCOAST Institute 2016.  The Town of Dalyan, which is located at the heart of a specially protected area,  and Dalaman International Airport have always been a safe haven even at difficult times of the country.  That is why we will go ahead with MEDCOAST Institute 2016 as planned.
